Brian,

I've a bicycle magazine from 1990 that shows several pictures of Ugo building a frame. But he his welding(!) it, not brazing. And he is smiling while doing this. Does this mean one step back? (The magazine is a german "Tour" special issue about frames and frame building.) BTW: Has anybody ever heard of "La Rosa" bicycles? There's a "La Rosa" frame on eBay. Made by Ugo's sister? http://ebay.com/<blah> Looks quite nice, Campagnolo cable guides, rainbow decals (so it must have some background, right?) and the price is still reasonable.

Steven,

Regarding DeRosa, that is interesting information. Like Monkeyman, I had heard a certain amount of talk about Ugo being a hands on type of guy. I've always like Ugo himself and early DeRosas. You have knocked him up ANOTHER peg in my mind. Thanks for that info.
