Grant, 2 serotta Mclean writes . . . Hey, don't get me wrong, I love steel and lugs, but I also believe when Serotta builds something, it really works. All other theories aside, ride one you'll see.

I'd like to make a comment on my Serotta Club Series. I purchased mine new in 1977. I went to Bikes and Things in Pittsburgh PA after a phone conversation about a custom bike with Mr. Serotta. He told me about a frame at this bike shop that would fit my size and needs perfectly. To me the price difference was $215.00 as opposed to $395.00.

It was repainted in 1982 by Pavlot's cycle in Michigan. . . because by then Mr. Serotta was no longer available to talk, nor anyone else. Dealers only. Nor did he respond to my letters.

That being said it is a long wheelbase bike with slack angles that is the most comfortable bike I have ever rode. It's original permutation was long distance touring with a TA triple and a mix of touring parts from Europe and Japan. Then it was Dura Ace. It is presently full Campagnolo.

Comfort with 38 mm tires . . . and versatility. racing or touring done well. To me the original American long low.
