Don't know about the bike but I did ask the seller about the serial number, and told him to look at the bottom of the BB. His response was:

it's faint, but looks like: 77_885

My '73 Eisentraut has a serial number that begins with E020973, with the 73 indicating the year. I got an email response from Albert that verified the year of my serial number was '73.

However, It's possible that he changed his numbering scheme.

A buddy of mine has always wanted an Eisentraut, I passed a note to him pointing out the auction, and he thinks it's a fake. Exactly why I'm not clear. Anyone have an opinion? I know nothing about Eisentrauts so I wouldn't venture an opinion either way. I'd agree the bike looks like early 80's to me as well (from the bad photos).

Thoughts?
