Hello all, I've just joined this email list after finding out about it on the "Classic Rendezvous" website. I first became interested in lightweight racing bicycles in the late 60's as a young teenager. I worked as a part-time bicycle mechanic while in high school and, for a while, full-time after graduation. I did some local amateur racing between 1972-75 in the southeastern Ontario / northern New York state area, but then sold off my road bikes. Sports cars and sports car racing had caught my fancy and I could not afford the time and money for both activities. But my appreciation for fine bicycles never went away. I'm really glad now that I have managed to retain a few parts and pieces from the early 70's as I plan to build a period-correct bike in the near future. I'm sure I'll be asking for help and advise here on this list (!), and possibly I may be able to reciprocate with some smaller tidbits of information or history (?). Cheers!
