Hi Ed,
I also have searched the web for Info for Some of the Super Vitus tubing all to no avail. How ever I do have a catalog dated 1984 with info on the Vitus 888 tube set, along with SV983 to V181.
Vitus 888 is a straight guage tube set, the walls are .8 mm on the main triangle and 1.0 on the chain stays and seat stays, the forks are 1.2 if you have the 28x19 or 1.5 tappering to 1.2 if 29x16.
The steel is E36-3 what that means, I have no idea, the catalog leads one to believe that it is a class of chrom-moly but which grade, who knows. I hope I helped. HAPPY THANKSGIVING
                          God bless

Subject: [CR]Vitus frame tubing question...

Hi,

I've looked in my resource materials, and used Google to search the web, but there's little information about Vitus frame tubing anywhere that I can find.

Can someone give me a brief summary or send me a web pointer to information about Vitus steel frame tubing? I'm wondering about the vintage stuff used by Peugeot, Motobecane and other French builders.

In particular, I'm wondering about Vitus 888, but there were other models that I like to know more about.

Thanks,
