Listmember Steve Kurt has been so busy scanning classic magazine articles
for y'all that his scanner be smokin'! I made a new folder for 'em all at
http://bulgier.net/
There you'll find the scintillating John Derven "drillium" article we were talking about recently (entitled "As Light as Air"), scanned at high enough resolution that you can read the text.
He also scanned the excellent Alan Coté article "The Art of Steel", which compares lugged, lugless and welded steel frames from Weigle, Landshark and some welder dude (who cares?), respectively, showing them in various stages of creation. Cool!
Owen Mulholland's "Eddy and the Hour" is a must-see, with insightful, well-written and well-researched text, and many great pictures especially of the bike - taken at Seattle's own Il Vecchio bike shop, which had it on loan for a long time, a couple years maybe?
Thanks Kurt, thanks Bicycle Guide magazine (R.I.P.). John, Alan and Owen, if you're listening - I hope this is OK, I'm not asking permission ahead of time but I assume you'd rather have these gems seen on the 'net than stuck where the sun don't shine -- piles of moldering magazines that is.
Oh, and fellow stalwart scanner Duane Kennard also sent along a cool
Confente brochure, check it out at
