I've had Bob Jackson's paint 4 frames during the last three years, one of their own, two Mal Rees and one Paul Donohue. I have been very impressed by the quality of the job. The Bob Jackson is my winter bike and is now on its third winter. The only chips are on the fork ends, partly due to my impatience after puncturing when the weather has been bad! It's worth noting their choice of paints as one type of paint they use is stated to give a harder finish, unfortunately I can't remember what it is called but 'Italian enamel' seems to ring a bell. The Donohue(my touring bike) had chroming done by them and I have been very pleased with it compared with the efforts of other UK finishers.

To all the British listers (and anyone else who might know),

I am thinking about sending my Raleigh back to the UK for a new paint-job, who would you recommend? I have looked at the Bob Jackson web-site and they seem to offer a good deal - anyone else?

Surprisingly, even with the exchange rate it is cheaper to go the UK rather than the US route, and Canadian painters - who would do what I want - are hard to come by.
