My theory would be that, in a rare exception, Frejus numbers are in fact actually serial, that is, in sequence.
Bases on observations but totally unscientific I would put forward the following:
Serial #86007 is a 1959. This was an all Campagnolo Record track bike. I am pretty sure the BB spindle had the press on races.
Serial #100,### is a 1967 (or at least bought in 1967 per the original owners son).
I suppose production was fairly steady at 1750 /year.
The bike I sold Takao Noda would be useful information because it has the second generation Campagnolo Record road crank (raised lip but no end cap) that was only briefly available. Takao- could you post the serial number?

David said, Trying to see if there's any sort of discernable pattern to the serial numbers on Frejus road bikes from the early-mid 60's, specifically to determine (as narrowly as possible) the year of manufacture for the project I'm working on. Anyone have data points they could send me? If I get any I'll compile a list and share it with the group.
Or even better, does anyone know how to 'decode' a Frejus serial number?
Thanks,
