tubulars. Does this mean that none of you ever tried Dordoigne tubulars? >> I bought a number of these tires in the 80s from a "racer" who was selling them at the Davis criterium. It seemed like such a good idea at the time...The story was they were being hand made in Morocco under French supervision. To make a long story short, they were among the worst tires I ever rode. I don't recall the exact details, but they actually caused me to crash once, so I stopped using them. I think the tire rolled off the base tape while using Clement glue. They were neither round, nor straight on the rim and made the bike feel remarkably squirrely, which went away as soon as I replaced them with better tires. If I ever see any of those tires, I'm going to make the vampire cross with my fingers and back away slowly! I will drive a wooden stake through them if forced to stay in their presence!
