Chris King will sell you a version without the logo etching. I have one and it is very plain and classic looking.

I also have a King headset that I believe is from the early 80's, and can't recall if there was much difference for quite a few years. In fact, until they started putting the "Chris King" etching on the cups, they were pretty generic looking headsets.
