On the comment above it may be the case but my Rene Herse Demontable - Randonnuese(sic) - Cyclo Camper (who says a bike can't do everything) has the stem clamped onto the steerer tube extension (threaded headset) that features adjustable height. Hey, with a quick release no less, campy lever too. This is made for the demontable feature and the handlebars can be easily removed without tools for transport.
