I'd love to bring home a vintage bike from Italy; I'm traveling to Rome, Venice and Florence (and driving, quickly, between them) with my family over Christmas. Rome would be the ideal place for logistical reasons but it's pretty clear that there are no longer any Chiappini-like shops in existence. I would be most appreciative and respectful of any introductions, recognizing the value of such personal contacts for those of you who have them, and commit to return the favor. The bike would be for my own use and enjoyment (ride as well as admire), and an unusual or best of class road or (even preferably) track bike.
