Hey All!
I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who looked in their basements, attics and even at their LBS for my future new-old bike.
It will be on its way to me shortly. Last night I decided to build it up to me functional as well as roughly period. Because it's a Trek, higher end, late 70s I've got a lot of wiggle room!
So this means the assorted collection of Campy gets saved for something else, and I build it up with my collection of older, freewheel based Shimano, which is also what my new, non era, custom gets built up with too. This way all my wheels are swapable...
The things I cannot find easily are a pair of friction-left, indexing-right 7 speed downtube shifters. Have not seen them on Ebay, not in the junk pile at work, not in my personal pile of parts. Shimano 600 are fine. Now I know that they may barely be CR era, I'm hoping Dale will indulge me there <g>!
