<< the best set up for shooting classic bike photos >>
Hi, John,
This had been dicussed many time before, but I love to see many member taking/posting nice photos, so I am repeating again,
1) Do not use direct SUN, FLASH with your camera, use soft indirect light source (cloudy day, in shade etc.)
2) Use a plain background as even wall, bed sheet etc.
3) Set your camera "ZOOM" setting for "Normal" or "TELE", never use Wide Angle nor Close-up setting. This means that you shoot from far away distance possible in viewfinder.
4) Shoot 3 to 4 feet above grond level 90' at the center of bike in both sides, (a whole bike)
5) The close ups for Headtube, (stem handlebar, froant brake), B/B, (crankset/chain wheel/fr. derailluer-pedal), Saddle-seat stay/tube rear brake from 45' angle. The rear derailluer/FW, and hub from 90' angle.
6)The camea resolution setting is; 72DPI, 1000+ by 760 pixle at 6X8" size should be enough for JEPG file.
7) If you have a software that control Color balance and Desity/Bightness such as Photoshop/Photoelement will be nice to make a final adjustment.
Good luck and show us your nice bike collection!
