Buck for buck, tubulars cannot match the performance and ease of use of a clincher. However, when cost is no object, tubulars are better under virtually all circumstances. It should however be noted that all the pros that I know that race on tubulars, train on clinchers... For sponsored pros, the cost of the tires is a non-issue, so either the difference in performance is so minimal that any difference is immaterial or the ease of use is far greater.
It seems that all CR list members are enamoured by the seta del mondo tubulars. Does this mean that none of you ever tried Dordoigne tubulars?
