I looked in all the Campagnolo catalogs:
The Gran Sport front derailleur has a part no. 1005 and then 1005/2 The Valentino front derailleur has a part no. 2050
The Gran Sport is shown in the catalogs from 1951 till 1960. The Valentino is shown in the catalogs from 1967 till 1984.
Dave, where do you see the Gran Sport and Valentino front derailleurs sharing the same part number?
