This one is easy...
Italia saddles came as original equipment on lots of Italian bikes but the saddles weren't imported.
Brooks and Ideale have been imported all along. And Brooks were considered the best of the best for a very long time. Many pros, including Fausto Coppi, used Brooks saddes (always butchered).
