Sigh, after privately receiving about a dozen (for all you bean-counting "statisticians") positive e-mails on this whole slander-fest, I've come up with an even better response than my last post. Let me know what you think, on-list rather than off (if you must e-mail me privately, please cc neago and pergolizzi, I think they sound like nice fellows who'd appreciate the extra e-mail traffic) Here's my BEST response yet....when I get home from the past 4 month road trip in the UK, I will go to the garage and see if I can find the old 50's-era pro Gitane frameset I hung up after getting broadsided by a bobtailed truck which ran a stopsign behind Vasona. Let's see, for some reason I hadn't been able to string three days in a row together on the road since that accident in...um ...1988? I sort of remember it was when I was in the middle of finals week, and preparing to play the Bydlo solo with my university orchestra's performance of Pictures at an Exhibition. I'm also 40 pounds heavier than then. But, I digress. I am gonna find that frame, and have it sent to CycleArt for restoration. Doggone it, when it comes back I am gonna build that thing up and get out and ride it! If I can get past the mental block (from nearly dying) and start riding consistently again, I'll dedicate a website to John and Steve for the inspiration.
