Subject: [CR]Help with ancient french track hub please!

Hi all,

I'm finally gettin busy cleaning up an old Sebier track bike, (c1950?). In taking apart the front Plessier Track hub I discovered that thing's aren't right with the axle/cone/locknut/axlenut assembly. I fear that at some point an incompatible cone was forced onto one end of the axle destroying the threads on that side of the axle.

I see three possible solutions: 1) having a machine shop repair the threads and finding a compatible cone (assuming that's what wrecked the threads in the first place) 2) find a new correct plessier axle with cones, nuts, etc. 3) find an axle assembly from another brand/type of hub that will work with the 3/16" balls that will mate with the cups installed in the hub.

I'm thinking that option 3 is the most likely. Anybody have advice or an axle that will suit my needs?

Thanks
