David,

The size is correct. The seat collar may have corrosion of distortion form use of an undersized post. Have the seat tube reamed and honed to proper size. I'm a big believer in proper seat post fit. Not only is it nice for ease of assembly and adjustment, but it reducing marring the post and aids frame longevity, prevents seat tube noises and perhaps even improves bike "seat of the pants" feel!

I recently aquired an NOS Campagnolo seat post to use with my Masi GC frame. The seat post is 27.2mm which is the same size as my other Masi. The new post is a very tight fit and I can only insert the post maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. This should be the correct size or am I mistaken?. I don't want to brute force it since the post is untouched. Any suggestions?
