I am detailing a M. Yvars bicycle (thanks to Scott McCaskey) and have a few questions. First, my Sutherlands (1985) does not go back to the Huret Svelta in the listings of derailleur capacity. Does anyone know what the maximum freewheel and chain wrap capacities of this model are? Overall wrap isn't as much of an issue because I'll be using the Nervar star 52/40 but I will probably swap wheelsets because someone appears to have attempted to take out a flat spot in the rear Super Champion rim with less than graceful blows from a hammer (judging from the half moons on the inside of the rim).
Second, the bike has centerpulls with "Racer" in a small red transfer. Levers do not look MAFAC-ish and I'm wondering if there were any other brakesets titled Racer besides the MAFAC ones.
Third, the stem is a steel Kipcim. Was Kipcim a French component manufacturer?
