I have never seen such a brute. To me, the interesting observation is not just the circlip, but the swelling at the other end of that shaft. In my memory, that was not done until well after the circlip -- in fact, I haven't seen many of these bulges on pre-CPSC (lipped) units. cuz. this looks concocted, as in, the swelling we remember on the post cpsc changers is integral to the casting. this one <appears> to be a shaft ''inserted'' through the body to act as a surrogate** circlip holder. none of my early OR post cpsc changers look like this one. e-RICHIE
