I have had exactly this problem too. I have ordered Snap-On sockets, tried Sears too, and even bought the peanut butter wrench, all to no avail. Finally my LBS removed the bolt for me when they put a triple on that particular bike for me, but I never got a satisfactory solution of some sort of skinny socket for my own eventual use. Should I grind down some sacrificial socket specifically for this purpose?
