This quite a late Carlton. It has Capella lugs which were used on a number
of models ranging from the fairly cheap to the better - what size seatpin
does it take? Capella lugs I think were introduced in 1959. The frame number
is a genuine Carlton type number rather than a Raleigh. However I am not
sure how long Carlton numbering survived after the Raleigh buyout in 1960/1,
the lugs continued for a number of years.

I would think this used the Simplex 543 gear which would place it in the period 1955-59 unless it is much earlier when several Huret gears had genuine twin wire control.
