Hi Jimmy,
Nervex lugs are fine as are the other parts you mention. The Henry James
parts don't match esthetically, but that's a matter of taste. It is a bit
more robust a shell than the Nervex one that would ordinarily be matched to
the lug set, unless he is using the Masi style "du Bois" short point lugs.
Regarding the tubing, which tubes, where? Your size, strength, weight and
riding style come into play here. The gauge of the tubing is probably more
important than whether or not it is 531? or Columbus. Since it's a custom
frame, remember that the seat angle determines your position (within limits)
and I always considered that an important starting point of any design.
