These pedals are Roger Piel pedals and are made in France. I agree with the eBay seller that they probably date to late 1940s.

I defer to your superior personal knowledge and mighty collection of catalogs, Oh Wise Chucko! So, am I crazy? Was there (also) a JPR pedal that looked kinda-sorta like that one?
