There might be a better way, but the way I was taught back in my bike shop days was to tighten the center bolt with the calipers aligned as best as possible. Then you have two choices: 1) Pop the spring off the nub on the side closest to the rim and bend it out a bit to increase tension, or 2) take a small hammer and punch and tap the spring near the center bolt on the side farthest from the rim until you have even spacing. Maybe someone has a better method or at least a better explanation of my methods?
