<Why are track dropout joints different from road dropout joints? It appears that roadbikes have dropouts with squared-off tabs that are smoothly transitioned into the stays, while trackbikes have dropouts with knife-edged tabs that are left visibly sticking out of the stays. Some builders (Cinelli) seem to almost flaunt this chisel-tip look. Is it stronger? Then why not do it on a roadbike?
