Am I missing something? The beautiful lugs shown by Mr Moon are indeed beautiful, but they have not been built up and brazed over as I understood the thread of this topic was concerned with? Fillet brazing over lugs to give a flowing look. The merits of it strength enhancement or reduction?
My opinion is that it adds little to the strength, certainly adds weight, adds the risk of heat damage, but if done nicely, looks great and is unlikely to break and who wants a super light frame any way!
I am interested because i have a very nice 'Drewcot" (I can never remember how he spelt his name, perhaps Hillary can put me right?). Fancy lugs, that have been brazed over and smoothed. This is the only English frame I have owned that looks like this. Alas, as is the way life is, this frame will soon be appearing on ebay.
