Steven, and Rest, I have to agree with Steven, and put my blasfemous words down as well. I have repeatedly heard through out the late 70s on up to the late 80s: The Only True Masi were made in Italy at the Masi shop. The American made ones, were Duping Forgeries. This forum list is the only place that I have ever heard the opposite. Heck I can ever remember reading an Eddy Merckx quote in Bicycling magazine from late 70s/early 80s agreeing that the Only True Masi were those made in Italy. Granted, he may be "mistaken" as well, but I just find his words carrying more weight than several folks here on the CR list. Maybe if Eddy had one of the Califonia Forgeries, he would say otherwise, I can't say. Sometimes the truth isn't always as pretty as we would like it to be. Apologies in advance to the owners of American Masi. My two cents, cheers, Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT
