I was rereading an article on the Masi 3V in the Sep/Oct 86 issue of Bicycle Guide. There are a couple of interesting bits of information. There is a report of an interview with Alberto Masi where he says that only a few 3V frames were made in Milan at the Vigorelli shop. "Alberto acknowledges that most Volumetricas are made in another Masi plant "far from here". Anybody know where that shop might have been? Secondly, Alberto says that the first 3V frames were made with tubing from a "French source" but that Columbus was providing the tubing by the time of the article. Were these Vitus tubed frames perhaps? He says that the small frames had straight guage tubes with .4mm walls. Wow! Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
