This appears to be a fairly early, and basic, 70's touring model from R &
E. Frames were an integral part of the R & E Cycles shop in Seattle WA,
up until about 1989 or so when the partnerhip disolved. The store is
still there on the upper end of University Ave. in the U district I
believe. Mark Petry and Bob Freeman know way more though if it isn't.
The R side of the business was of course Angel Rodriguez, who really loved
to build tandems, and the E side of the business was of course Glenn
Erickson, whose gone on to build some really slick frames. If you look
really close in one of the pics, you'll make out the image of the trillium
flower that was their signature mark.
A special lugged/lugless Erickson creation resulted from one Christmas
visit back to the northwest ... those were the days.
