Subject: [CR]info about strange french frame and Cinelli track bike

A local bike shop here has got several old frames and bikes. One damaged frame that's lying there in the dustbin and that I can buy for a few bucks is a strange french aluminium frame with golden lugs. The lugs look like cnc machined brass, but I think that can't be the case. The shop owner told me that this was a top expensive frame and he only sold two, this one equipped with Dura Ace and Shimno 600 and another one completely equipped with golden(!) Super Record. The light blue tube decal says "CMP Lyon". I've put some pictures at http://home.t-online.de/home/dirk.feeken/stiller/stiller.html The frame is pretty much out of alignment, the tubes have been bent when the owner tried to enter a parking house with the bike on the roof track :-) What do you think? Would it make sense to rebuilt it? The Shimano parts should be findable, and I have some golden rims from that era. But I don't know if it's possible to repair the frame. Or if it's even worth the effort. Do you have any informations about it?

There's also a beautiful Cinelli track bike with Magistroni 3-arm cranks. Only the saddle, seatpin and tires are missing. Everything else is there and seems to be original. The shop owner doesn't want to sell it. But he wants it only as decoration for his shop, not as a collectible. He might weaken if I make a good offer. How far should I go?

thanks, Dirk
