Several months back there were several threads that touched on why the
Nervex BBs weren't always used with the lug sets, my take on what was said
was that availability (lack thereof) was a key reason.
Back in the 70s it was just as easy to get Nervex shells as it was to get lugs. And the shells were pressed, not cast, and could in no way be described as beefy.
As far as the fork crown, I believe it's the NICEST ever made. Here's the

They were nice when you got through with them but not when you started. And
we'd fill the cavity between the blades and steerer with brass to add some
stiffness. They were pretty (B'stone copied them for the OX-1) but not the
nicest ever made.
