Mark,

As far as I know, there were no "Confente" frames built in Italy with his name on it. He was a contract builder. According to someone I have spoken with about this, there are Pogliaghi, Colnago, and Masi frames built my his shop in Italy but none with his name on them.

Anyone have any PROOF to the contrary? If so, that would be the first I've heard of it which would be odd since I've been around the stuff for 30 years.

Small contract builders were quite common in the 60's and early 70's and like Richie said, many of the better craftsmen are unknown to us in so far as us being able to recognize it in specific. I'd like to know more about this Pela(?) guy who built early 60's Masis but information seems hard to come by.

Hope that answers your question.
