Subject: [CR]1971 Colnago Super

Hello,

I have a 1971 or 72 Colnago Super bike in near mint condition. I have posted pictures of the bike at the following address:

http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=4291805777

The seat tube measures 60cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the CL intersection of the seat tube and the top tube. The top tube measures 58.5cm from the center of the seat tube to the center of the headset. I purchased the bike in 1972 from the original owner. I believe he had owned the bike for a year or less. I pretty much stopped riding the bike about 25 years ago when I moved to a mountain town (away from any decent paved roads) and got into mountain biking.

The bike is full Campy with customized drilling and engraving by Colnago. I have two sets of wheels for the bike. Both wheel sets have Campagnolo Record hubs. The original wheels have "NISI Cerchi" sew-up rims. The newer wheels have Mavic clincher rims. I also have a selection of Campagnolo tools and a spare Campagnolo derailleur.

Several gearhead friends have suggested that my Colnago may have significant value as a collectable. I have considered putting it on Ebay, but I have no idea what a reasonable reserve might be. I would appreciate any information anyone may have as to the value of the bike. I would also appreciate any other leads or other information that would assist my selling the bike (i.e. how rare is the bike, are there better markets than Ebay , etc.).

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
