Well I can verify the pedals that James Lauterback patented because I helped him a bit with the design. I went to the website thinking those pedals would be a real test of obscurity, and there they were.

Jim was a customer who bought first a Fuji Ace (classic bike content, first all Dura-Ace bike I know on the market)and then a Teledyne Titan with full Dura-Ace. He got interested in the pedal idea and I have held the prototypes in my hand. They were a positive type locking pedal, but easier to use than the Cinelli M-71. The triangular idea was you always had a face to engage.

He is also a wonderful upbeat creative guy, made some sort of small fortune selling tax shelters and last I knew was facing some severe physical problems very bravely.
