The name "Super Record" can be misleading on Campy pedals... SL pedals with their black anodized cages contain steel spindles are considered part of the Super Record Group.

Campy did make at one time titanium spindles for the SL sets but had to withdraw production because the spindles were brittle and fractured easily.

I believe TI spindles were withdrawn about the time of the 1978 Consumer Product Safety Commission decrees to enhance bike safety.
