I think Dave is right. There are no winners in the recent French/English debate. Since French cycles are my interest I would have welcomed a Web page, but I suspect the task was in itself,a pretty daunting task for Bruce. I just bought a vintage French frame from a fellow list member. I look to this list for advice and information regarding the restoration of this classic frame but thelist has assumed a contentious and personal tone that does nothing to promote our interest in lightweight vintage classics. I've been a background member who contributes little, but reads nearly everything on the list. I have been impressed with the relative civility of the list, and the way Dale seems to guide the discussions, but I think It's time to remember that our interests are the same, and that's the reason we're reading this list in the first place. I would prefer to read even the endlessly boring Masi discussions over the tedious personality issues lately. I want to read about classic lightweights..even Italian ones.
