I have a Reynolds 531 frame that I have been preparing for a new paint job. Unfortunately it took a tumble to a cement floor resulting in a small shallow dent in the top tube and some nicks in the fork blades. This is not a rare exotic frame so we are not talking "restoration" - only repair of some small flaws. If the metal is well-cleaned can one use auto body style filler? A steel frame flexes a bit so I am concerned about the filler popping off when the frame is ridden. Any other suggestions that won't destroy my budget would be appreciated.
