Subject: [CR]Repro Campy Hoods - Light at the end of the tunnel?

Well folks, this Campy repro hood licensing issue really iritates me that Campy has tried to close down quality duplicates because of trademark concerns. As a result, I called Campy USA by telephone today (for the first time) and and attempted to talk to Richard Sterino, the Campy USA Marketing Director.

I had a chance to speak at length to Campy Customer Service and found out that Richard is currently unavailable and travelling overseas. I mentioned that Campy trademark actions to block vintage parts availability are starting to concern some of the 600+ CR forum members and other Campy enthusiasts while alienating some of their best customers. I suggested that Campy revisit the production or licensing of Campy products to meet consumer demand.

The wheels are now starting to turn because Richard is in Italy apparently for a Campagnolo World Conference and will apparently address this repo gum hood question "directly to Mr. Campagnolo himself" per Campy Customer Service. Hopefully, Campy will see the light and produce or allow the licensing of production for repro hoods.

I will keep all posted on the Campy response...
