If memory serves me well, Enzo made something like 37 original Testa Rosas
and 39 GTOs. A number of them were wrecked in their day, and just about every
guy who salvaged a scrapped fender that the works threw away, built an entire
car "with race history" around the salvaged scrap. There are a lot more than
37 or 39 TRs and GTOs around now than there were then. The underground is
supplying brake drums, machinists are making them fit and making engine parts
to keep them running because there is money in it, i.e., the owners are
willing to pay what it takes. Roland Della Santa always used to say, he'd
rather see one of his bikes all scratched up from use than hanging on a wall.
That was 15-20 years ago and he's probably still saying it. It's all good,
that wall hanger will hit the market someday.
