I have been offered a 1948 Gillott tandem by an elderly Scottish friend who I have purchased bikes from before. I have not seen the bike but it is supposedly in good condition with mostly original equipment, (switched from 5 speed to 10 sometime in the 60"s), but suffering from a re-paint that was also done in the 60"s. Transfers/decals are long gone but he does have the original headbadge. My questions for the group are.
1. Can I obtain period correct decals?
2. Is $1,600 a reasonable price?
