I love this list and enjoy being part of it but my four 1930s track bikes all have wooden rims, and original wooden rims to boot, even the spokes are original. Am I going to hop on and go for a ride NO, NO WAY. They are wall hangings in my office and I am proud to have them there. They are my works of art since I restored each one with my own hands. I have a bunch of modern bikes and I ride them. Do I wish I had a rideable 1930s racing bike maybe, but it is not necessary? Things that are old help us deal with being mortal they give us a link to the past. My bikes don't long for the open road they earned their retirement.
