You make a good point. I wonder though, how these bikes would ride on a 1930's wooden track like they were designed for ? Have you ever had a chance to try them out at all ?
Even if you switched out the wheels for modern replacement track wheels, it would not really be the same as riding them with the original wood on wood.
Special case, but I grant your point.
I wonder if eventually my Dean MTB frame will be in a similar position, unridable under the conditions for which it was designed ? It is not a good ride on the road.
