Wow!!
And I was gong to ask you out Saturday night. Around here, being
a Cat 2 gets you more tale than Sinatra.
(THAT WAS A JOKE. HUMOR!!!)
My experience building frames for Cat 1s, and National & Olympic
team riders from the U.S. and Canada differs from your experience.
All of my clients wanted current 'technology'. Each of them were
educated, motivated, and ended up with a life after their racing
ended. And the ones that still race, I'll wager that they'll end up
on their feet, too. To a man, (and to a woman), none of these clients
were sheep that needed a shepard.
Now, to keep this on topic, here is my point, AGAIN!
No one who races at any level, particularly at a high level, would
choose a 30 year old bicycle over a modern one. In so many
words, that is the comment I made Thursday A.M. regarding the
70s Masi that has spawned so much email and varying opinions.
I said that a 70s Masi would be 'useless' in today's racing
environment. Perhaps 'useless' was a poor choice of a word.
Regardless, I stand by the sentiment.
