There was another set of open C shifters that finished a little while ago at $51.00. The fascination is just that they are 1958 or earlier parts, correct for a restoration from that time. Some collectors have more $ than sense. I doubt if it makes economic sense (does bolting those on increase the value of the bike by that much?) to spend that much on shift levers. That said, for a more reasonable sum, I'd like to have a set because I have an appropriate bike for them that I'm going to keep. Better yet, some early handlebar end shifters in open C. But if you have a set that don't shift all that well, let
me know off list.
