Hello and a happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers on the list. First I will start by saying I had an absolutely great time at my first Cirque. It was really nice to meet some of the list members I have been communicating with over the past three years in person. Although on this list I mainly stay in the shadows, I felt very welcomed at the Crique. I was surprised that many of you remembered my name. Well, once I remarked that I just moved back to the States from Okinawa. Thanks! I saw many beautiful bikes and spent far too much money. One bike that still stands out in my mind was Jan’s husband’s early Bianchi. WOW! By far my favorite bike at the show. Remember Jan, I ride a 62cm c to c or larger. I did manage to take a few photos and will try and post them sometime next week. Dale, I also have some nice photos of the E.G. Bates and will forward them once I get them digitized. Finally, I have the chance at buying a ’71 Raleigh Pro frame set, olive in color and looks to be in fairly good shape. Most importantly, it’s in my size :-) and the price is within range. My question is what was the reputation and quality of the Pros from the early 70’s? I attempted to go to the Retro Raleigh’s web site but the Pro page was down. I would also like any and any information you may have about these bikes from the early 70’s (photos, original components, variations, history, and teams). Were they a better bike than the Frejus Pro of the same era? Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards, Rich Quantico, VA…did 25 miles on the P-13 today and even sported the wool CR jersey!
