I sold a few Saronni frames in the late 70's or early 80's. They were made by Colnago with a photo of Saronni on the head tube. I understood that it was an attempt for Colnago to offer a slightly lower priced version of his own bikes. They were, as you noted Columbus Aelle straight gauge tubing. Their angles were typical Colnago and the workmanship more than acceptable. At the time the frames sold for $250-300. The shop that I worked in also had our last remaining frame stolen on a busy Saturday, the thief just picked it up and disappeared. So, if your frame is matte black and approximately 53 cm...
