Strange the catalog shows the Sprite above the Gran Sport, the Sprite was definitely a step down from the Gran Sport. The main differences between the two that I owned was the Sprite came with sidepulls maybe Couriers and the Gran Sport had GB Courier 66's centerpull brakes. The Gran Sport had a Brooks swallow and the Sprite had a Lycette swallow definitely lower quality, and the Gran Sport had chrome on the fork, they were otherwise almost identical and I very much doubt they had butted tubes, they seemed to be the same weight and quality as the early 70's Gran Prix frames, straight gage carbon steel.
Please lets not star the stiffness and tubing dialog again for at least 6 months. Brian B in Berkeley.
